Commissioner Ben Wilson

District 1

Ben Wilson, Vice Chair

Term of Office: Term expires January 2019

Ben Wilson is currently serving his first term as Riley County Commissioner, after being elected in November 2014.

Ben graduated from K-State in May 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in music composition. When he’s not working on county business, he also holds part time jobs in campus ministry and teaching violin lessons.

His family moved to Manhattan when he was 13 for his dad to pastor a church. In the following years, Ben started getting involved locally in political issues and campaigns and eventually also with internships in the state legislature and with Congressman Huelskamp.

In 2012, he was elected to his first public office, as Republican Precinct Committeeman for Ogden Township.

Ben married his beautiful bride, Rachel, in October 2016, and he thinks that was for sure one of the best choices of his life.
